Where in the world can you
feed a hungry child for
33 cents?
With 80,000 street children in
the city of Hyderabad, there is enormous need to
serve a hot, spicy lunch to the homeless, famishing
children. Some of them do not know where their
parents are while others have deliberately run away
because of abject poverty and hardships at home.
You can find them everywhere like the swarms of flies: train stations, bus terminals, slums and streets. Our Alpha Homes (Day Care Center) can feed a child a whole month for just $10, something one can easily spend on a stopover at the favorite Starbucks.

from hunger & malnutrition.
Some heart-breaking truth!
Children in age group 0-14 years constitute 34 per
cent of India's population. 2 million children do
not survive to celebrate their first birthday. An
estimated 500,000 children are in prostitution. 18
million children live in the streets. 30 million
children suffer as child laborers.
Every third girl child does not survive to see her
teenage. Every sixth girl child dies due to gender
discrimination. 10,000 Thalassaemia children are
born every year. India has 30 per cent of world's
births and 25 per cent of world's child deaths. More
than one half of young children are under weight
with widespread chronic malnutrition.
But as the poet philosopher Rabindranath Tagore had
once said: "Every child comes with the message that
God is not yet discouraged of man."
If God is not discouraged, there is hope for every
child. And we can become a channel of that hope.
Together we can provide a nourishing meal to a
street child who would otherwise scavenge for food
in the garbage dumps and make a miserable living by
picking rags or begging alms.
We invite you to get involved in this
all-the-year-round feeding program and make a
difference in the lives of children.
